Players sent to another island
While talking to a Pakistani TV channel, Yunus said that after the death of 58-year-old Bob Woolmer, the Pakistani team was shifted to another island by the police and they were interrogated for three days. Yunus further said that it was a torture for us. I think the officials should have taken care of us.
“I was very close to Woolmer” – Younus
Yunus said, “I was very close to Bob Woolmer. We used to sit together and discuss cricket, but it is unfortunate that we were not together the night Woolmer died. Actually, we had lost to Ireland. I was also very disappointed with the defeat in that match and my own performance. As soon as I reached the hotel, I went to my room and locked myself in. The next day we came to know about his death. I did not see him at breakfast time.

“Pakistan cricket would be different today if Woolmer had remained coach”
Yunus says that if Bob Woolmer were the coach today, the team would have been very different. After Woolmer's death, it was revealed that he was shocked by the team's defeat. He had a heart attack. He was also a diabetic patient. There was blood on his mouth. Later, the Jamaican police came to the conclusion that he was not murdered, but he died due to health reasons. However, many questions have been raised on the actions of the Jamaican police. Bob Woolmer was born in 1948 in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. After that, he played cricket for the England team. He was also the head coach of South Africa.
