Chairperson of Punjab State Women Commission Raj Lali Gill today interacted with media persons in Chandigarh to discuss issues related to social evils facing women in today's times. Lali Gill emphasized on the important role that media can play in ensuring safety of women and reducing the influence of anti-social elements.

During the meeting, Lali Gill spoke about several important initiatives taken by the media for the safety and empowerment of women. She said that the media can raise awareness among people by highlighting serious issues such as domestic violence, sexual abuse and gender inequality to ensure the safety and well-being of women. She said that media reports play an important role in protecting the interests of women and promoting their empowerment.

Lali Gill also shared her experience of visiting jails in Ropar and Amritsar, where she came across cases of young people who had secured jobs without proper documents and now found themselves being duped by companies. Without job contracts or appointment letters, employees often fall prey to fraud. She also highlighted the worrisome plight of many girls already in jails due to such conditions and appealed to the media to report on these issues proactively so that the younger generation can learn the right lessons from it.

While discussing the role of media, Mrs Gill appealed to the parents and said that in order to make their daughters feel completely safe, it is important for the parents to behave in a friendly manner with their daughters.
