According to the severity of no bone density, it is of two types, osteopenia and osteoporosis. If the AT score of bones in the bone density test is between 1 to 2.5, then it is a condition of osteopenia, in which the bone density of the affected person is less than the normal bone density. If it is not treated in time, then it can also turn into osteoporosis.
While the A T score of bones is 2.5 or less, then it is a condition of osteoporosis. In this, the bone density of the affected woman is much lower than the bone density of a normal woman. The lower the bone density, the greater is the risk of bone fractures.

In fact, during the menstrual pause, the level of estrogen hormone in the woman's body drops significantly, due to which the bone density decreases. After menstrual pause, about 10% of the calcium in their bones is lost in 5 years.
Medicines
Long-term use of certain medications can damage bones and increase the risk of osteoporosis. Some such medications are glucocorticoids, cancer medications, antiepileptic medications, proton pump inhibitors, serotonin reuptake inhibitors, and thiazolidinediones.

Other risk factors include a family history of osteoporosis-related fractures, low levels of calcium, vitamin D, potassium, or protein, and low bone density.
Low Bone Density: How to reduce the risk of osteoporosis?
- To reduce the risk of osteoporosis, women should consume a balanced diet rich in calcium, vitamin D, potassium and protein and reduce the consumption of fast food or fried foods after the age of 30.
- One should exercise regularly and do weight lifting and resistance exercises three or four days a week.
- Consumption of alcohol, coffee and smoking should be reduced or stopped if possible.
