Microsoft Azure outage: At around 1:45 pm on Friday afternoon, Indigo Airlines' check-in system suddenly stopped working at Mumbai airport. At first, the airline ground staff thought that this was happening due to some kind of technical problem in the system. When the problem was not solved even after trying several times at their level, the senior officials of the airline were informed about it. Meanwhile, the airline ground staff came to know that this problem is not only in their check-in system, but other airlines also have similar problems.
By now the whole world had heard that due to Microsoft Azure outage, the check-in system of all the airlines of the country and the world had stopped working. By the time it was completely clear, there was panic among the passengers. There was a queue of passengers outside and inside the airport. Since the flight check-in and boarding information display system had also stopped working, the curiosity among the passengers was constantly increasing. Soon, the patience of the passengers gathered near the Indigo check-in counter started to fail. Some were not ready to listen to anything.
Seeing the situation worsening at the airport, IndiGo's airport manager Rohit Rao took charge. Rohit Rao had received instructions to issue manual boarding passes to the passengers. Rohit Rao asked his staff to issue manual boarding passes and himself started explaining to the passengers and managing the passenger crowd with a sweet smile. With his smile, whatever request Rohit Rao made to any passenger, no one could refuse to accept it. Sometimes he would manage the line and sometimes he would go ahead to help the passengers. This behavior of Rohit Rao touched the hearts of all the passengers.
Regarding Rohit Rao's behavior, a passenger named Anup Jaiswal has written that amidst the global chaos, I am at Terminal 2 of Mumbai International Airport, from where I am going to Delhi by 6E-993. This is a praise post for IndiGo's airport manager Rohit Rao and his team, who are running everywhere and who are handling the situation very calmly and helping everyone as much as possible… Great job.
