Mohammed Shami told when MS Dhoni will retire from IPL
Mahendra Singh Dhoni (MS DHONI) announced his retirement from ODI and T20 cricket on 15 August 2020, while before that in 2014, during the Australia tour, he had announced his retirement from Test cricket. Now Mohammed Shami has told when Dhoni is going to announce his retirement from IPL.
Before IPL 2024, Dhoni had left the captaincy of Chennai Super Kings and it was believed that he would announce his retirement as soon as the IPL ended, but Asia did not happen.
Mohammed Shami said that one should retire when one is about to get kicked. Talking about Dhoni's retirement, Mohammed Shami said that
“You people (media) are raising questions on his future. When he himself said that 'we will see'. In a conversation with Mahi bhai, I had asked when should a player retire? He said that first when you yourself get bored and second, when you feel that you are going to get kicked.”
Mohammad Shami further added that
“But the first and foremost thing is that when you stop enjoying the game, it is a sign that your time has come. It is better that you choose the best moment for retirement. Because if you are not able to maintain a particular format then your body starts telling you. At that time a player should decide it.”
MS Dhoni is the first captain to win all ICC trophies for India
Mahendra Singh Dhoni (MS DHONI) is the only captain in the world, not just India, under whose captaincy the team has won all the ICC trophies. As soon as Mahendra Singh Dhoni became the captain of Team India, India won its first ICC trophy in 2007 by defeating Pakistan and winning the ICC T20 World Cup 2007.
After this, under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the Indian team won the ICC World Cup 2011 trophy after 28 years. Mahendra Singh Dhoni won the ICC Champions Trophy for India in 2013.
