The Indian women's team will start its campaign against Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025 today. The Indian team is the biggest contender to win the Asia Cup 2025. However, the real test of the team will be in the T20 World Cup in October and the ODI World Cup next year. At present, the team's spin all-rounder Sneh Rana says that Rohit Sharma and company's recent victory in the T20 World Cup trophy has given the Indian women's team confidence that they will continue their campaign to win their first ICC trophy.
Sneh Rana told PTI on Friday that, if you look at the performance of the Indian women's cricket team in the last two-three years, the team is doing its best. She said that, if we talk about winning the ICC trophy, look at the example of the men's team, it took them almost 10 years to win the trophy. They were working hard and preparing for a long time. Sneh further said that, if you want to achieve something big, it will not happen overnight, it will take time. It will take a lot of struggle and sacrifice. But in the end we will do it.
Fielding has been a matter of concern for the team but they say that there is no lack of passion to improve it. Sneh Rana, who made her debut in 2014, said, “When we play so many matches, there is a lot of scope for mistakes. But this does not mean that any player is bad at it. Of course, when you are on the field, you want to do the best for your country.”
Sneh Rana, who has played 25 T20 Internationals and 27 ODIs for India, said, “As far as ICC trophies are concerned, the more matches we play, the more experienced we will become.” Sneh Rana has not been included in the team for the Asia Cup campaign and she faces the challenge of regaining her place in the white-ball team. She said, “I was a little disappointed when I was not included in the team. You want to play for India whether it is Test cricket or white-ball cricket.”
