According to the news, the Hindu Succession Act has been amended from 9 September 2005 to give daughters rights in father's property. This law says that daughters will have equal share in father's property as their brother. Daughters can claim this property even after marriage.
What is the legal right of daughters in their father's property?
1.If the father has any ancestral property, the daughter has the right to that property from birth. The daughter can claim a share equal to that of the son.
2 .A daughter can go to court to claim her share in her father's property. For this, a case has to be filed in the court.
3 If the father dies without a will, then the daughter can also claim equal rights on that property as the son.
4 If the father has acquired any property himself, then the daughter or son cannot claim their share in that property as long as he is alive.
