An Indian vlogger is facing backlash for her condescending behavior during her visit to China. Jyoti Malhotra posted a vlog of her journey from Shanghai to Beijing, engaging in actions and speaking things that are biased and unlawful. What Was The Video About?

Malhotra made a video about her journey in China and posted it on her YouTube channel Travel with Jo. While making the video she made the locals uncomfortable. It begins with taking a metro to Shanghai bullet train station. After boarding the high-speed train, Malhotra finds that she doesn't have a window seat. She then urges the person sitting on the window seat to move to the middle seat. Malhotra, with a racist tone, addressed the passenger as 'Cheeni Bhai'.

However, the person moves to the middle seat and surrenders to her request which clearly makes him perplexed.

Breaking local laws

Then, the vlog moves to the streets where she asks a lady riding a scooter to give her a lift. Even though the lady said that she had to go in the opposite direction, Malhotra didn't budge and kept saying things in Hindi that the lady couldn't decipher. Malhotra pesters the lady to the extent that she has to seek help from a police officer. Despite that, Malhotra keeps recording and speaking in Hindi.

Then the vlog moves to a bus ride where Malhotra again creates a mess. She boards a bus without a ticket. Despite the driver's request to buy a ticket, Malhotra remains adamant and takes a seat. In addition to this, she breaks the local law of buses stopping at designated locations and argues and asks the driver to stop at a traffic signal.

Malhotra's vlog makes derogatory comments about the local people making it even worse by speaking in Hindi and English, languages ​​not known by the local population. Still, the video amassed 3.7k likes.

The video goes viral condemning Malhotra

Sharing the excerpts of the video on , takes the bus without a ticket (twice), and asks the driver to stop at a non-designated location,” condemning Malhotra's behaviour.

The tweet that went viral has received around 1.6 million views. Users have reacted to the video condemning the racist behavior of Malhotra.

One of the users wrote, “Disgusting behavior by an Indian woman!! This is the price people in China, Taiwan, US, UK, and Europe will pay for writing thousands of media articles about how Indian women are getting oppressed and raped by patriarchy. Does she look like an oppressed woman?”

Another user wrote, “Completely pathetic behaviour.”
