New Delhi: West Indies legend Kieron Pollard currently features in the Major League Cricket (MLC) as the skipper of the MI New York and was recently caught up in a moment with a fan during his side’s match against LA Knight Riders. As MI New York and LA Knight Riders faced off in match no. 19 of the MLC, Keiron Pollard didn’t just limit his dominance over the opposition’s bowlers.
Pollard had notably rewound the clock, showcasing his vintage batting prowess as he took the bowlers to the cleaners, hitting them left, right, and centre. During his monstrous innings, an unfortunate fan in the stands got hit by one of Pollard’s sixes on her shoulder. As Pollard was on a tear for his team MI New York, which registered a four-wicket win over LA Knight Riders, he whacked an unbeaten knock of 33 runs in just 12 balls at a soaring strike rate of 275.
The former West Indies skipper brought hell on to the opposition as during the 15th over of the innings, he smashed star Australia pacer Spencer Johnson for three back-to-back sixes. However, one of those maximums unfortunately landed on a woman’s shoulder which visibly left her in pain.
Pollard’s warmth towards the fan
What was great to know that Pollard didn’t just leave the ground, forgetting about the incident as after the win, he went on to apologise to the fan in what was a heartwarming gesture. Pollard along with Nicholas Pooran met up with the woman who was present alongside her husband. Pollard said that he is sorry about the hit which the fan rebuffed saying that it was alright and that it was indeed a great shot.
“I humbly apologise. This is the least I can do,” Pollard said. He also went on to ask her husband to take care of her, “I am sorry. Take care of her okay? Do what a man needs to do.”

Pollard signed an autograph on his match cap and gifted it to the woman and also took pictures with the couple, who was nothing but all smiles with the pleasing gesture.
MI New Yorks bagged only their second win of the tournament which has taken their points tally to five points and are ranked fourth in the table. They have also barged into the playoffs, while LA Knight Riders have been eliminated on net-run rate. MI New Yorks next face Texas Super Kings in the important Eliminator clash on Wednesday.
