Khas Khas, Chandigarh:
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed by the Punjab Vigilance Bureau in collaboration with the Immigration team has succeeded in arresting Prashant Manjrekar, the absconding accused director of Sunaranjivan Infrastructure and Projects Pvt Ltd in the Pearls Agrotech Corporation Limited (PACL) case from Mumbai Airport. The accused was trying to flee to Dubai from Mumbai Airport to evade his arrest.
Giving information in this regard today, the spokesperson of the State Vigilance Bureau said that the said accused was wanted in a case registered under Sections 406, 420, 467, 468, 471 and 120-B of IPC at Police Station Sadar City Zira, District Ferozepur on 16-07-2020 in connection with his involvement in illegal sale of properties of PACL Limited at village Gholumajra, Tehsil Derabassi, District SAS Nagar. The accused was aware that the Supreme Court has already banned PACL Limited from selling any kind of property of PACL Company at village Gholumajra and other places.
He further informed that the directors/promoters of Phenomenal Construction Private Limited and Sanranjivan Infrastructure and Projects Private Limited in connivance with others have developed two colonies named Bella Vista-01 and Bella Vista-02 on 115 bigha land declared disputed by the PACL court in village Gholumajra in the year 2018-19. The accused developers earned a lot by selling plots/houses to people in both the colonies, due to which the Vigilance Bureau has named the promoters of these companies in the said case.
It is noteworthy that following the Supreme Court's orders to sell the properties of PACL Limited and return the sale proceeds to the investors who had invested their hard-earned money in the collective investment scheme presented by this company, a committee was formed under the chairmanship of Justice (Retd.) RM Lodha.
The spokesperson further said that the transit remand of the said accused has been taken and he will be produced before the concerned court of Punjab. He said that further investigation in this case is underway.
