King Cobra Video – During the rainy season, snakes often come out of their burrows or habitats and sometimes they encounter humans. Wildlife officials in Agumbe, Karnataka rescued a giant 12-foot-long king cobra and released it in the forest. Ajay Giri, field director of Agumbe Rainforest Research Station (ARRS), posted this amazing rescue video on Instagram, which was also shared by Indian Forest Service officer Sushant Nanda on X.

Locals of the village spotted the cobra crossing the road, and later it hid in a bush in the compound of a house. The house owner informed the Forest Department and ARRS officials immediately after spotting the snake.
Giri and his team rushed to the spot and gave necessary instructions to the locals over the phone to prevent snake-related accidents. Giri and his team immediately swung into action, and pulled the snake out of the bush with the help of a rod. It was then placed in a rescue bag and soon released into the forest.

Giving details about the incident, Giri said in his post, “ARRS was informed about the situation. On call, we informed the locals about the safety measures related to snakes and then reached the spot. After inspection, we decided to catch the snake. The snake was caught carefully. Awareness programmes were organised for the locals at the spot and informative material was distributed. Finally, the snake was released in the forest in the presence of locals and forest department officials.
