Dehradun, July 19 (IANS). In view of the threat of dengue during monsoon, the health department in Uttarakhand has become active. To prevent this, health officials are making people aware. At the same time, they are also engaged in destroying mosquito larvae by going door to door.

CMO Dehradun Dr. Sanjay Jain said that it has been raining heavily in Dehradun for the last few days, due to which waterlogging is also happening. In such a situation, we have instructed Asha workers to destroy mosquito larvae. So far, Asha workers have inspected more than one lakh 63 thousand houses, in which mosquito larvae have been found at 1,378 places so far.

According to the Meteorological Department, Uttarakhand has recorded record rainfall in the beginning of July. In the first week itself, the state received almost three times more rain than normal.

The highest rainfall occurred in Kumaon and the 34-year old record of highest rainfall in a single day was broken.

In this rainy season, where people are facing other problems, the concern about mosquitoes has also increased. In such a situation, health officials have intensified preparations to prevent this.
