The statement from the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has come after Maharashtra government on Friday submitted the report to the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on the misconduct during Khedkar's tenure at the Pune collectorate.

Puja Khedkar who has been into soup for submitting the fake documents has been on radar of investigating agencies for some time now. Now, in one of the major developments, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has conducted a detailed and thorough investigation into the misdemeanor of Puja Manorama Dilip Khedkar, a provisionally recommended candidate of the Civil Services Examination-2022.

Here's what the UPSC says

1. According to the investigation report shared by the constitutional body, it has been revealed that Puja Khedkar fraudulently availed attempts beyond the permissible limit under the Examination Rules by faking her identity by way of changing her name, her father's & mother's name, her photograph. / signature, her email ID, mobile number and address.

2. It also states that, in compliance with the Civil Services Examination-2022 Rules, the constitutional body has started a number of proceedings against her, including the filing of a First Information Report (FIR) with the Police Authorities for the purpose of criminal prosecution.

3. Additionally, a Show Cause Notice (SCN) has been issued, requesting that her candidature for the Civil Services Examination-2022 be canceled and that she be barred from all future examinations and selections.

4. Furthermore, the UPSC said that it is categorically stated that in carrying out its constitutional duties, it strictly abides by its mandate and conducts every procedure, including examinations, with the highest standard of due diligence and without making any compromises.

5. The UPSC further clarified that it has strictly adhered to the Rules and acted in a fair manner to guarantee the sanctity and integrity of all its examination procedures.

The UPSC has deservedly earned the trust and credibility of a very high order from the public, especially the candidates. The Commission is unequivocally committed to ensure that such high order of trust and credibility remains intact and uncompromised.

Maharashtra government sends report to DoPT

It is important to note that the action from the constitution has come after the Maharashtra Government General Administrative Department (GAD), led by Additional Chief Secretary Nitin Gadre submitted a comprehensive report to the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT). The scrutiny highlights the misconduct during Khedkar's tenure at the Pune collectorate.

The report also highlights the incidents involving the unauthorized use of official insignia on her vehicle and disputes with senior officers over office space.
