US presidential election: Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has praised former US President and Republican presidential candidate for this year's election Donald Trump for his response to the recent assassination attempt and called it “one of the worst things I've ever seen in my life”. Zuckerberg refused to endorse any candidate for the November election, where Trump and Biden will engage in a political contest.

According to media reports, Zuckerberg refused to endorse any presidential candidate and said he would “not play any significant role in the election”. However, he offered a positive characterization of Trump, although he has been criticized by the former president in the past.

“To see Donald Trump stand up after being shot in the face and pump his fist in the air with the American flag is one of the most dangerous things I've ever seen in my life,” he said, acknowledging Trump's strong appeal to some Americans. “As an American, on some level, it's hard not to be passionate about that spirit and that fight. And I think that's why a lot of people like the guy.”
