Google announced to stop a service that used to shorten the long links of the website. This service was known as 'goo.gl' and will stop working from 25 August 2025. If you try to open any such link that starts with 'goo.gl', it will not open and you will see an error message.
23 August 2024 then you will see a warning when you open some link in it
First of all, on 23 August 2024, when you open some links in it, you will see a warning, this warning will tell that the link will stop working soon. Initially this warning will appear on some links. But as the date of closure comes closer, it will start appearing on all goo.gl links. Google is telling people using small links to change the link as soon as possible, otherwise there may be a problem. Actually, when a person clicks on these small links, a new page may open in the middle.
The page may interfere with opening the actual website
This page can interfere with opening the actual website and also creates problems when sharing on social media. Google announced the shutdown of its “goo.gl” short link maker in March 2019. After this, they stopped creating any new short links. They advised people to create other types of short links. But that service has also been stopped now. For developers, whoever is facing this problem, just write “?si=1” at the end of the old “goo.gl” link, this will prevent the new page from appearing in the middle.
