New Delhi. There is a political uproar in the national capital Delhi over the imposition of cess on electricity bills. Amidst all this, Congress state president Devendra Yadav has raised the demand for CAG audit of electricity distribution companies. Yadav said, “After the 9 percent increase in PPAC, 46 percent PPAC will be charged on the bills. This will increase the financial burden on the people of Delhi.”
He said that it should also be investigated that how is the increase in PPC justified every year? Meanwhile, taking a dig at the Delhi government, he said, “Kejriwal's promise of free electricity and half water has proved to be false. Delhiites are having to pay huge bills. Only 10 percent subsidy is being given for 200 units.”
The Congress leader said, “When the Congress was in power, Arvind Kejriwal used to constantly demand that the power companies be audited by CAG, but now that he himself has come to power, he has not got the power companies audited by CAG even once, whereas Kejriwal himself had said that if he comes to power, the power distribution companies in Delhi will be audited by CAG not once or twice, but thrice.” Expressing his apprehension, he said, “Is it possible that the Aam Aadmi Party and BJP are involved in the scam in electricity bills in Delhi? I say that this should be investigated.”
Devendra Yadav said, “The Congress party demands that the hike in electricity bills be withdrawn immediately so that the people of Delhi can breathe a sigh of relief. Due to the hike in electricity bills in Delhi, the common people are facing a lot of difficulties. Anyway, the people of Delhi are fed up with the working style of the Delhi government. This government is completely involved in corruption, which has nothing to do with the people of Delhi. I say with confidence that these people are immersed in the abyss of corruption.
