A Hindu temple of Swaminarayan sect has been damaged in Canada. Derogatory comments about India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi have been written on the walls of the temple. Along with this, a Canadian MP has also been targeted. PM Modi was called a terrorist and anti-Canada on the walls of a Hindu temple in Edmonton, British Columbia. Canadian MP Chandra Arya has raised the issue of the attack on the temple and has asked the law enforcement agencies to take this issue seriously. Attacks on Hindu temples have increased since the rise of Khalistani extremists in Canada. Gurpatwant Singh Pannu, a Khalistani extremist active in Canada and America, had publicly asked Hindus to go back to India.
Canadian MP shared photos
Canadian MP Chandra Arya has shared pictures on social media platforms and informed about the damage done to the temple. He wrote, 'The BAPS Swaminarayan Hindu temple in Edmonton has been vandalized again. In the past few years, Hindu temples in the Greater Toronto Area, British Columbia and other places in Canada have been vandalized with hate-filled paintings.'
Khalistanis attacked
Pointing to the involvement of Khalistani extremists behind this, he said that last year Gurpatwant Singh Pannu of Sikh for Justice had publicly called upon Hindus to return to India. Pannu has declared India a terrorist country. He further said, 'Khalistan supporters publicly celebrated the assassination of (Indian) Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in Brampton and Vancouver and waved pictures of deadly weapons.'
Hindu-Canadians concerned
The Canadian MP pointed out that Khalistani extremists easily get away with their public rhetoric of hatred and violence. He said, 'I want to put it on record again. Hindu-Canadians are really worried. I again call on Canadian law enforcement agencies to take this issue seriously before this rhetoric turns into physical violence against Hindu-Canadians.'
