Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday wrote on his social media platform 'X' that India's job market is growing and prominent people from around the world are predicting that India will soon become a superpower. PM Modi wrote in his X post, “With 12.5 crore jobs created in the country in FY 2014-23, doubling of EPFO subscribers and India poised to become the third largest economy by 2030, India's future looks bright.”
Along with this, PM Modi has also posted a poster on X, which reads, “The Great Indian Job Story”, highlighting this, according to what PM Modi has posted, 69 percent of Indians believe that the country's economy is moving in the right direction. Whereas, the average of people in the world who believe this is 38 percent. It is due to domestic consumption that India has become the 5th largest economy in the world and its influence has increased on forums like BRICS and G7 summit. It is clearly shown in this that 12.5 crore jobs were created in the country from FY 2014-23, that is, an average of 2 crore jobs were created in India per year. At the same time, 56% increase in the income of workers has happened during the financial year 2022-23.
Along with this, it has been shown that India's AI market will reach $ 77 billion by 2027. With this, India is on the path of becoming a $ 10 trillion economy. Earlier, a figure was released by the State Bank of India, which said that 12.5 crore employment opportunities have been created in India between FY 2014 and FY 2023, which is 4.3 times more than FY 2004 to FY 2014. This report said that if agriculture related employment is excluded, then 8.9 crore jobs were created in the manufacturing and service sector between FY 2014 and FY 2023. At the same time, 6.6 crore new employment opportunities were created between FY 2004 and FY 2014.
The report further said that the employment figure in Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) registered with the MSME Ministry has crossed 20 crores. According to the data till July 4 on the Udyam Portal of the MSME Ministry, 20.20 crore people are getting employment in 4.68 crore registered MSMEs. Out of this, 2.3 crore jobs are being found in informal micro units exempted from GST (Goods and Services Tax). There has been an increase of 66 percent in jobs in MSMEs as compared to July last year. The report also said that due to the government's focus on infrastructure, employment opportunities in the construction sector have increased significantly.
