Lucknow. The reason behind the Chandigarh-Dibrugarh Express accident in Gonda has been revealed. The place where the accident happened was buckling (expansion of tracks in summer) for four days. Due to buckling, the Chandigarh-Dibrugarh Express which was going at a speed of 70 km per hour got derailed on Thursday.
The section's keyman Sneh had informed the concerned senior section engineer and assistant engineer about this. The distress process of cutting and separating the track was not done at all. There was also pressure not to take a block for this. The keyman has recorded his statement in the joint note prepared during the confidential investigation of the railways. Action can be taken against the engineering department of the railways.
3 killed, 33 injured in train accident
Three AC coaches of the Chandigarh-Dibrugarh Express overturned and 13 derailed in a train accident in Gonda on Thursday afternoon. Three passengers died and 33 people were injured in the accident, of which five have been referred to Lucknow in critical condition.
The deceased have been identified as Saroj Kumar Singh, a resident of Araria district of Bihar and Rahul, a resident of Chandigarh. The third deceased could not be identified. The accident took place at 2:55 pm near Pikoura village between Motiganj-Jhilahi railway stations.

According to railway sources, loco pilot Tribhuvan has claimed that he applied emergency brakes when he heard the sound of explosion. After this the coaches derailed. The railway has also included the angle of conspiracy in the investigation of the accident. The railway has directed the Railway Safety Commissioner (CRS) to investigate the incident.
Union Minister of State for Environment Kirtivardhan Singh also reached the spot. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given instructions for proper treatment of the injured. Railways has announced a compensation of Rs 10 lakh to the kin of the deceased, Rs 2.5 lakh to the seriously injured and Rs 50,000 to the injured.
