There was a big attack on former US President Donald Trump. In this attack, Trump was shot in the ear. Trump addressed the people for the first time after the attack. He arrived among his supporters with a bandage on his ear. He addressed the Republican convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This was an indoor event after the attack. Here he told about his attack. He said, 'People ask me what happened on the day of the assassination attempt. I tell you because you will not hear it from me again. Because it is very painful to tell it. I was giving a speech in Butler Township. Everyone was happy. I was talking to people about jobs and infiltration from the southern border.'
Trump said unity is strength, political disagreement should not be made a crime
Recalling the attack on him, Trump said that we should not make political disagreement a crime keeping in mind the interests of America. The Democratic Party should not weaponize the justice system. To protect democracy, we should constantly work to strengthen it in the minds of the people. Labeling your political opponent as an enemy should be stopped immediately. The attack on me has happened because of this tendency to consider political disagreement as an enemy. I am the one saving democracy for the people of our country.
Trump further said, 'There was a big screen on one side of me, in which I was showing about jobs and reduced immigration during my tenure. But during this, as soon as I turned to my right, I was very lucky. I heard a loud sound and something hit my right ear. I held my ear with my right hand and my hand was covered with blood. I understood that we were attacked. Very brave Secret Service agents ran on the stage and held me. They came over me so that I could be saved. But I felt safe because God was with me.'
“I would not be amongst you”
Trump further said, 'If I had not turned, the killer would not have missed his target. Then I would not be with you tonight.' He further said, 'Many bullets were fired at us. You know that if even a single bullet is fired, there is a stampede. But this did not happen here. It is very unusual. Thousands of people stood with me. Many lives were saved as there was no stampede. They did not run because they loved me. They knew that I was injured and that is why they wanted to be with me.' He further said, 'The Secret Service sniper very bravely killed the attacker with a single bullet.'
'People thought I was dead'
Trump said in his speech, 'People thought I was dead. That's why they didn't go. But when I got up, I started saying Fight, Fight with my bloodied fists to encourage them.' After Trump said this, people started shouting Fight-Fight. He further said, 'When people realized that I am alive, they raised a loud voice for our country, which I had not heard before today.' Trump further said, 'I am saddened that a warrior died and two people were killed. I spoke to the families of all three and told them that we will not forget them.'
