New Delhi. Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court has taken cognizance of the chargesheet filed by the CBI against BRS leader K. Kavitha in the CBI case related to the Delhi Excise Scam. Special Judge Kaveri Baveja ordered K. Kavitha to appear in the court on July 26 through video conferencing.
The court ordered to extend the judicial custody of Manish Sisodia in the CBI case along with K Kavita till July 26. Manish Sisodia was produced in the court through video conferencing.
Today, the judicial custody of Kavita and Manish Sisodia was ending. On July 18, the court had referred Kavita to AIIMS hospital to check her health. The court had summoned Kavita's medical report from AIIMS hospital. Kavita's health deteriorated in Tihar Jail on July 16, after which she was admitted to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital in Delhi. She was sent back to jail after treatment.
Kavitha was arrested by the CBI in this case on 11 April. The CBI filed a chargesheet against K. Kavitha on 7 June. The court took cognizance of the chargesheet filed by the ED against K. Kavitha on 29 May.
So far 18 people have been arrested in this case, including Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh and BRS leader K. Kavitha. Sanjay Singh has been granted regular bail by the Supreme Court.
