Indian cricket player Jasprit Bumrah made a fan very happy when he thanked her for writing a long post about his performance in the T20 World Cup final. In that important game, Bumrah helped turn things around for India in the last two overs when South Africa needed 30 runs from the last 30 balls.
Bumrah played really well, only allowing six runs in those last two overs and getting a South African player out. This made South Africa feel more pressure, and they ended up losing the game by seven runs. India won their second T20 World Cup title because of this.
A fan who saw Bumrah’s performance at the Kensington Oval in Barbados wrote about how those last two overs changed the mood in the whole stadium. Bumrah noticed the post and thanked the fan for writing it.
“Thank you so much for your kind words ,really well written. That day will will always remain special in my heart,” wrote Bumrah on his X account.
Jasprit Bumrah made history by becoming the second Indian, after Virat Kohli, to receive the prestigious award. Kohli had won it twice in 2014 and 2016. At 30 years old, Bumrah was the tournament’s second-best wicket-taker, with 15 wickets in eight matches, averaging 8.46 runs per wicket and maintaining an economy rate of 4.17.
Born in Ahmedabad, Bumrah set a record for the lowest economy rate by a bowler in a single T20 World Cup edition, with at least five games played. His standout performance was against Afghanistan, where he took 3 wickets for 7 runs in four overs.
However after his world cup performance jasprit bumrah has been rested for upcoming white ball series against Srilanka.
