Suryakumar Yadav thanked everyone for keeping faith in him. Surya was appointed the Indian captain of this format after Rohit Sharma's retirement from T20 International cricket. The 33-year-old batsman was given preference over Hardik Pandya, who was the vice-captain in the T20 World Cup.
