Due to these mistakes your solar subsidy will be cancelled
The demand for solar energy is increasing across the world to address rising electricity bills and meet energy needs. The Government of India is promoting solar energy through several schemes and subsidies with a target to achieve 500 GW of non-fossil fuel energy capacity by 2030. One such initiative is the PM Solar Rooftop Yojana under the Surya Ghar Yojana which provides subsidy for installing solar panel systems.
There are certain rules and guidelines that must be followed to avail these subsidies. In this article, we will tell you about the terms and conditions so that you can become eligible for the scheme and avail the solar subsidy.
Reasons for cancellation of solar subsidy
To get the subsidy, you have to install the solar system within the specified time frame. Failure to do so may result in the subsidy being stopped. Make sure that all the information in the application form is correct and matches the details given in your documents. Any discrepancy like mismatch of names in electricity bills and other documents may cause problems in getting the subsidy.
To install a solar panel system, you need a good location and must be the owner of the property. Subsidy is not available for systems installed in rented properties. You must have a bank account matching the name mentioned on the electricity bill to receive the subsidy amount. Make sure all documents are submitted in the same name. Subsidy under this scheme is available only for on-grid solar systems. If you want to get the subsidy, you must install an on-grid solar system.
If you do not get subsidy then follow these steps
If your application is approved under the PM Solar Rooftop Yojana, you should expect the subsidy amount to be credited to your bank account within 30 days. If you do not receive the subsidy after this period, contact the vendor who installed your solar system.
