So today try basundi prepared with milk, sugar along with some dry fruits and saffron. It takes some time to make but it is very fun to eat and has a special taste. This dish can be served even without fasting and the family will enjoy it quickly.
Basundi
material
- 1 liter of skimmed milk
- 3/4 cup sugar
- Half teaspoon cardamom powder
- 6-7 pieces of chopped almonds
- 10 pieces of charoli
- Chopped 5-6 pistachios
- A few strands of saffron
Learn how to make
First take milk and boil it in a non stick pan. Now reduce the gas and boil the milk till half. Simmer on low flame for half an hour and keep stirring it in between. Now keep the gas low and add sugar. Boil the milk until it thickens like rubber. At this point you will see that the milk will boil in the pan and will have thickened a lot. At this point also mix cardamom powder and boil again for 10 minutes. Now add chopped almonds and pistachios and charoli and garnish with saffron and serve in a bowl when it comes to room temperature.
Basundi is considered a traditional Gujarati dish. Here it is included in sweet dishes on special occasions. But if you want to keep your stomach full for a long time during fasting then you can try this basundi. Serve even those in your family who are not fasting. Its test will give them pleasure too.
