Pakistan Army.
There are frequent reports of violence and discrimination against minorities in Pakistan. Many times human rights organizations have accused Pakistan that the minority community does not get equal opportunities in jobs here. Recently, a Christian officer Julian Moazzam James has been made Major General in the Pakistan Army. This is the first time that a minority officer has been awarded this post in the Pak Army. There are almost no minority soldiers in the Pakistan Army. A report in 2022 revealed that there are only 200 Hindu soldiers in the Pakistan Army.
Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif congratulated Julian Moazzam James on becoming Major General and said, “James' abilities, hard work and dedication are a guide for the young generation. The Prime Minister further said that the contribution of the Christian community to the progress, prosperity and defense of the country cannot be forgotten.”
22 Brigadiers became Major Generals
According to Pak media reports, this week 22 brigadiers in the Pakistani army have been awarded the rank of Major General. These promotions have been approved by the Pakistan Army Promotion Board. In a statement from the PM Office, special wishes have been given to Major General James for his future. The congratulations of the Prime Minister of Pakistan are also being seen as a signal to the world that people of every community are given equal opportunity and respect in the Pakistan Army. Earlier in June, Colonel Dr. Helen Mary Roberts became the first Christian woman to hold the rank of Brigadier in the Pakistani Army.

Talking about Hinduism, 2.17 percent of the population here believes in Hinduism. Last year, Army Chief General Asim Munir praised the role played by the Christian community in the development of the country during the Christmas celebrations at Christ Church in Rawalpindi. The Pak government is constantly trying to reduce the embarrassment being faced worldwide regarding religious freedom.
