The US presidential election is just a few weeks away. On the one hand, while the pressure on current President Joe Biden to drop out of the presidential race is mounting, on the other hand, former President Donald Trump's position is also getting stronger. Amidst all this, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is nervous seeing Trump's chances of victory increasing. In an interview, he has said that if Trump becomes the President of America, it will be very difficult to work with him. In an interview published on Thursday, Zelensky admitted that Donald Trump's victory in the US election to be held in November is not good for Ukraine. However, Zelensky has said that he and the people of Ukraine are ready for this.
By choosing Senator J.D. Vance as his vice-presidential candidate, Trump has made it clear that if he wins the election, America's stance on Ukraine, which is embroiled in a 28-month-long war with Russia, can change. It is worth noting that Vance had said in an interview, "I don’t really care what happens to Ukraine." Zelensky, who was attending the European Political Meeting in London, also talked about this while talking to the BBC. Zelensky said, "Maybe they don't really care, but we have to work with America."
I will end the war as soon as I become president- Trump
Zelensky also said that after Trump's election, it can be very difficult and we will have to work harder. He said, “But the people of Ukraine are hardworking. Joe Biden's government has continuously sent weapons to Ukraine during the war. However, due to disputes within the US Congress, there have been shortcomings in the last few months. At the same time, Trump has said during his election campaign that once he is elected as the President, he will end this war through negotiations. He said that if he were in this position in February 2022, no war would have started.
