What to eat while breaking the fast in Shravan?
After staying without eating or drinking anything the whole day, you can eat banana first while eating fruits in the evening. Banana contains potassium, due to which you do not feel hungry soon after eating it.
If you are breaking your fast in the evening after staying hungry the whole day, then first of all drink water of fennel and celery. This can help in getting rid of problems like bloating.
While breaking the fast in the evening, you can eat buttermilk, fruit chaat or sago kheer.
Potato is a good option during fasting. After eating it, the stomach feels full and it can also provide energy.
During fasting we drink less water which can dehydrate the body. That is why breaking the fast with cucumber can be a good option.
What not to eat during Savan fast?
If you are fasting to detox your body, then avoid eating too much fried food, refined flour and gram flour like food during the fast.
Avoid eating too many sweet things during the fast because eating sweets on an empty stomach increases the blood sugar level rapidly.
Do not use white salt during Sawan or any fast. Instead, you should consume rock salt.
Avoid eating too much fried or spicy food during the fast. This type of food can cause problems like acidity, indigestion or constipation.
Be careful while eating fruits and green vegetables because there is a greater risk of getting infected by germs during the rainy season. Use fruits and vegetables only after cleaning them thoroughly.
