One can reach the temple by walking through the Tighra Dam Senas and reaching Rai village, then travelling about 3 kilometres on foot.

It can be reached by four wheeler from the Kaitha village road in front of Tighra dam.

Naleshwar Mahadev can also be reached by four wheeler via the big village route.

The history of the temple is 800 years old

It is said that in the 15th century, King Mansingh Tomar ruled over the Gwalior Fort. Mansingh Tomar saw Queen Mrignayani in the forest, after which the king proposed to marry her. Queen Mrignayani told King Mansingh Tomar that she drinks water from the stream flowing from Naleshwar. Therefore, if the king brings the water of this stream to Gwalior Fort, she will agree to marry him. King Mansingh Tomar had also laid a pipeline from Naleshwar to Gwalior Fort to marry Queen Mrignayani. The remains of this pipeline are still present at Naleshwar.
