The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) on Wednesday dismissed rumors and false propaganda related to the preparation of the famous Tirupati laddu, saying that the sweet is freshly prepared and has been prepared by Sri Vaishnava Brahmins for centuries.
According to reports, the clarification came after some social media posts claimed that the lattas were being prepared under the supervision of a contractor and that the dessert was not fresh when distributed to devotees.
In a press release issued by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam, the holy Srivari Lattu Prasad is being prepared with the best quality and requested the devotees not to be deceived by false reports.
According to the board, legal action will be taken against those who spread false propaganda on social media about Rewari Lattu.
“There are currently 980 Hindu community members working in the Lattu Bodu (kitchen) and performing the sacred duties assigned to them since ancient times,” Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam added.
“Among them, Sri Vaishnava Brahmins are involved in collecting the raw materials used to prepare and prepare the laddus,” it added.
