Indian cricket player Rishabh Pant, who is a wicket-keeper and batsman for the Delhi Capitals, might switch teams before the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2025, according to a report from Dainik Jagran. Pant has played more games and scored more runs for the Delhi Capitals than any other player. However, the report says that the Delhi Capitals might not keep Pant on their team before the big auction, even though the Director of Cricket, Sourav Ganguly, supports him. The report also says that if the Delhi Capitals let Pant go, he might join the Chennai Super Kings. The Chennai Super Kings are looking for an Indian wicket-keeper and batsman because their current star, MS Dhoni, is planning to retire soon. They would be very interested in having a talented player like Rishabh Pant on their team.
Recently, Indian all-rounder Shivam Dube praised the Indian Premier League for helping him enhance his abilities and build his confidence. This came after he made significant progress in the national team following a successful 2024 season.
Dube ended up as the second-highest scorer for Chennai Super Kings that season, with 396 runs, including three scores of 50 or more, at a very fast pace of 162.29 runs per 100 balls. His impressive performance in this lucrative tournament secured him a prized position in India’s very competitive 15-player squad for the T20 World Cup.
The versatile player maintained his spot in India’s team of 11 for the entire competition and made important contributions when it mattered, such as his 27-run performance in the championship game against South Africa. He formed a crucial 57-run alliance with Virat Kohli (76) to help India reach 176/6 in 20 overs, leading to a six-run victory over South Africa and securing India’s second T20 World Cup win. He scored a total of 133 runs in eight matches while batting in the lower middle order.
“The IPL is amazing, not only for players but also for the development of cricket in India. It offers a great opportunity for young players to display their abilities alongside top-level players. For me, playing in the IPL has been a valuable learning experience, aiding in my skill development and boosting my confidence,” Dube shared with IANS.
