According to the news of The Guardian newspaper, this riot started after some people of the child care government agency took away children from Luxor Street in Hare Hills. The protesters do not want the agency to separate the children from their parents and keep them in a child care home. People are protesting against this. The disturbance started from Luxor Road. West Yorkshire Police has said that a double-decker bus was set on fire and a police vehicle was overturned. An attempt was made to disrupt the public transport system. Those responsible for this situation will be brought to justice. Police say that this chaos was created by a criminal minority group. Home Secretary Yvette Cooper has said that the scenes of unrest are shocking. Councillor Salma Arif has appealed to people to stay at home. West Yorkshire Mayor Tracy Brabin has thanked emergency service officials for dealing with the riots. Local MP Richard Burgon said: “I am on my way back to Leeds from Parliament. I am in contact with the police and concerned residents. A First Bus spokesman in Leeds said: “Two of our vehicles were caught up in the chaos this evening. Both our drivers are safe and there are no reports of any injuries to passengers. One of our empty buses was set on fire.
