ANI quoted Pakistan's Geo News as saying that Pakistani singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan has been arrested in Dubai on a defamation complaint filed by his former manager Salman Ahmed. Dubai police sources have given this information. Earlier he was taken into custody. However, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan denied the news of his arrest spreading around. He said that do not believe such cheap news. He said that my fans are my strength.Rahat's former manager Ahmed had submitted a complaint against him to the Dubai authorities. Sources revealed that Rahat had sacked Ahmed a few months ago after a dispute. Moreover, sources also said that both Rahat and Ahmed had filed cases against each other.

After his arrest, the O Re Piya singer was taken to the Burj Dubai police station. Rahat Fateh Ali Khan has been performing at various concerts in the UAE for the past few days. A few months ago, the singer fired his manager after several differences cropped up between them. His former manager Salman then filed a case against him in Dubai. Earlier this year, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) began investigating the singer on charges of money laundering and tax evasion following revelations that he earned around Rs8 billion from local and international concerts in 12 years.

The investigation comes amid another scandal involving the singer. A sensational video had emerged in which Khan was allegedly assaulting a member of his band over a missing bottle of alcohol, further complicating his situation. In February, Salman Ahmad faced controversy when a leaked video surfaced, revealing him to make veiled threats against leading Bollywood stars and Pakistani qawwal Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. The footage, recorded six months ago and recently leaked by a staff member, shows Ahmad expressing anger and disappointment towards artistes who do not fulfil their commitments, and threatening to take serious action against them.
