TheUPSC filed a criminal case against controversial probationary IAS officer Puja Khedkar earlier on Friday for “misrepresenting and falsifying facts” after a “thorough investigation” into allegations of misconduct.

Pune: A local court on Friday granted Dilip Khedkar, father of the controversial trainee IAS officer Puja Khedkar, pre-arrest bail till July 25. The bail was given in connection with the case in which and his wife gave been accused of threatening a person with a gun over a dispute of land.
Puja Khedkar’s mother detained on Thursday
Earlier on Tuesday, Manorama Khedkar, the mother of Puja Khedkar was detained and was then remanded to judicial custody in the same case till July 20. Apart from Khedkar couple five others have also been booked in the case.
The case against them was filed under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 307 (attempt to murder), 144 (unlawful assembly armed with a deadly weapon), 147 (rioting) 506 (criminal intimidation), and also under the Arms Act. The police had earlier filed an First Information Report (FIR) a viral video had gone viral showing Manorama Khedkar threatening sa few people by brandishing a gun at a village in Pune’s Mulshi tehsil.
UPSC files criminal case
Earlier in the day, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) filed a criminal case against controversial probationary IAS officer Puja Khedkar for “misrepresenting and falsifying facts” after a “thorough investigation” into allegations of misconduct. She had allegedly manipulated her identity to appear for the civil services exam several times, which was more than the permissible limits, as per the Commission.
The commission also issued a show cause notice on cancellation of her candidature for the 2022 exam. The UPSC is also considering banning her from future exams, the statement further said. After receiving the complaint, the Delhi Police issued a statement saying, “UPSC has filed a complaint with Delhi Police against Ms. Puja Manorama Dilip Khedkar for misrepresenting and falsifying facts to obtain extra attempts in the UPSC examinations, beyond the prescribed limit. Consequently, a case has been registered under the relevant sections of the law, and investigation has been taken up in the Crime Branch,” Delhi Police said in a statement.
