Monday Fasting/Falahari Namkeen Recipe: There is a tradition of worshipping Mahadev in the month of Sawan. It is said that whoever worships Lord Shiva with a true heart in this holy month, Bholenath fulfills all his wishes and removes his troubles. This is the reason why people do special worship of Bholenath on Monday of Sawan to please him. Along with this, many people also keep fast on Monday.
Although the fast of Sawan is not so difficult, still many people are unable to stay hungry during the fast. Staying hungry starts deteriorating their health. Due to this, we are going to tell you about such a fruit namkeen, which you can prepare before the fast. You can calm your hunger by eating it little by little during the fast. It is very easy to make and you can also store it for many days.
Ingredients for making Falahari Namkeen
- 1 cup peanuts
- 1 cup cashews
- 1 cup makhana
- 1 cup sabudana
- 1/2 cup thinly sliced coconut
- 1/2 cup raisins
- 2-3 green chillies
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1/2 tsp rock salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper powder
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon ghee
Salting recipe
- To make this snack, first heat some ghee in a pan. Then add sago and fry it on medium flame. When the sago is fried well, take it out in a plate. After frying the sago, add makhana in the pan and fry it. After frying, take them out and keep them aside.
- After this, fry peanuts and cashews in the pan. Put thin coconut pieces in the pan and fry till they turn light golden. After this, add raisins and fry them a little and take them out. Put ghee in the pan and add cumin seeds to it. When the cumin seeds start crackling, add finely chopped green chillies and fry them lightly.
- Now add roasted sago, makhana, peanuts, cashews, coconut and raisins and mix well. Now add rock salt, black pepper powder and sugar (if you want) and mix well. Roast it well on low flame.
- Let the Falahari Namkeen cool down and then store it in an airtight container. It can be eaten during the fast. You can add more dry fruits or spices to it according to your choice.
