Ayodhya: The month of Sawan is starting from Monday. With this, the Kanwar Yatra will also begin. During this time, lakhs of Kanwar pilgrims come to Ayodhya to take the holy water of Maa Saryu and after taking the water, they depart for Jalabhishek in the Shiva temples of their vows. There is the maximum crowd here on Jalchadhi Trayodashi i.e. Sawan Krishna Trayodashi. Kanwariya devotees take a dip in Saryu and after Jalabhishek in Nageshwar Nath temple with wet clothes, they also visit and worship in major temples. In this connection, keeping in mind the heavy pressure of crowd in Hanumangarhi, it has been decided to open the exit gate from Saturday. VIP darshan will also be available through this route.
As the exit gate was very narrow, on the advice of the district and police administration officials, the Panchas of Hanumangarhi Akhara had proposed a plan to widen the exit gate. Mahant Sanjay Das, former president of Akhara Parishad and successor of Mahant Gyan Das Maharaj of Sangaria Patti, said that the width of the exit gate has been made 20 feet. He said that the contractor will hand over the work on July 19 after finishing it, so that the exit gate will be opened for the use of common devotees from Saturday.
He told that it is proposed to build a restroom on the empty space on the right side next to the stairs, while on the left side the temples of Maa Durga and Lord Narasimha will be reconstructed. A lift will also be installed here as per the requirement. Currently two lifts are under construction. One of these lifts is for the use of Gaddi Nashin Mahant Premdas and other saints, while the other will be reserved for the disabled or elderly devotees. He told that the remaining work will be done later in view of the Sawan Mela.
Before the Maha Kumbh to be held in Prayagraj in 2025, the Panchas of Hanumangarhi Akhara resolved the dispute between the Shrimahant/President and General Secretary of Nirvani Akhara. Due to this, Vaishnav Akharas will be able to prepare for the Maha Kumbh. Earlier, Shrimahant Dharmdas and General Secretary Mahant Gaurishankar were appointed by Hanumangarhi Akhara. Panchas of the Akhara and National President of Sankatmochan Sena Mahant Sanjay Das said that according to the rules, the tenure of the officials on this post is fixed for 12 years, under which the royal bath of two Maha Kumbhs takes place under their leadership.
He told that the tenure of Mahant Dharmdas and Mahant Gaurishankar Das had been completed. Due to this, in the meeting of the Akhara for the selection of new office bearers, according to the right of the Patti in the cyclic order, Haridwari Patti Mahant Murli Das has been appointed as Shrimahant and on the post of General Secretary, senior Nagatit Satyadev Das of Sangaria Patti and senior Nagatit Nandram Das of Ujjainia Patti have been jointly appointed as General Secretary. He told that the outgoing Mahant Dharmdas has resolved the dispute by expressing his support before the Mahakumbh Mela administration. Before this, a report was given by both the parties before the Mahakumbh Mela administration, from which the Mela administration had sought a reply from both the parties, which has been resolved.
