New Delhi, July 19 (IANS) Suryakumar Yadav is the new T20 captain of the Indian cricket team. Hardik Pandya is no longer the vice-captain of the team. Shubman Gill has been made the vice-captain of both T20 and ODI in the Indian team announced by the BCCI for Sri Lanka. Hardik Pandya is not a part of the ODI team. Rohit Sharma is the captain in the ODI team. India's left-arm pacer Pradeep Sangwan spoke on Hardik's captaincy.

Pradeep Sangwan has closely seen Hardik Pandya captaining Gujarat Titans in the Indian Premier League. Pradeep Sangwan said that Hardik Pandya is a good captain. However, Hardik has been having back problems for some time now. Therefore, the selection committee must have taken this decision keeping in mind his fitness.

He said that apart from fitness, Hardik Pandya is a good and smart captain. He has made Gujarat Titans the winner in IPL and reached the finals in the second season as well. But fitness also matters, that is why the selection committee looks at all this as well.

Let us tell you, Hardik Pandya joined Mumbai Indians in IPL 2024. He replaced Rohit Sharma as captain. This decision was criticized a lot. Later, Hardik Pandya made an important contribution in making the team world champion under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma in the T20 World Cup. Hardik Pandya is also going through a difficult phase in his personal life. Hardik Pandya formally announced his separation with his wife Natasha Stankovic on 18 July.

Pradeep Sangwan will be seen playing in the Legends Intercontinental League. He has taken 178 wickets in 58 first class matches. He has taken 104 wickets in 102 T20 matches.
