Famous Pakistani singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan has been arrested at Dubai airport following complaints filed by his former manager Salman Ahmed. Initial reports revealed that Rahat Fateh Ali Khan was detained at Burj Dubai Police Station while he was in the United Arab Emirates. Rahat had come to Dubai to perform in various musical concerts.
It is worth noting that Rahat has been embroiled in controversies due to the ongoing tension with his former manager. Salman Ahmed has filed legal cases against Khan in Dubai and other cities.
Earlier this year, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) launched an investigation against the singer on charges of money laundering and tax evasion after it was found that he had earned nearly Rs8 billion from local and international concerts over 12 years.
Recently, another sensational video surfaced in which Khan was allegedly beating up a member of his band over the disappearance of a bottle of liquor, which also led to a lot of controversy.
In February, Salman Ahmed faced controversy when a leaked video surfaced, revealing him making veiled threats against prominent Bollywood stars and Pakistani qawwal Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. The footage, recorded six months ago and recently leaked by a staff member, shows Ahmed expressing anger and disappointment towards artists who do not fulfill their commitments, and threatening to take serious action against them.
