Nirmala Sitharaman Speech on Budget 2024, (Today's Society), New Delhi: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is presenting the budget in the Lok Sabha and this is her 7th consecutive budget. In her budget speech, Sitharaman said that the government's focus will be on the farmers, the poor, women and the youth. Special credit program for MSMEs to continue their business
- Will provide assistance for setting up 50 multi product food units.
- Mudra loan amount increased from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 20 lakh.
- To increase the reach of SIDBI, new branches will be opened in the next three years. Out of these, 24 branches will be opened this year.
- To promote e-commerce exports, a scheme will be brought in collaboration with the private sector.
- The government will make a provision to provide internship to 5 crore youth in 500 top companies.
- TATA will be given assistance to open food safety lab.

Sitharaman said, the people of the country have expressed their faith in the government led by Prime Minister Modi and have given him the opportunity to serve the country once again for a historic third term. She said, India's economy is shining even in difficult times. The government's focus will be on the poor, women, youth and farmers. The government will increase job opportunities.
Highlights of the budget
- Education loan- Those who are not getting any benefit under government schemes will get loan for admission in institutions across the country. The government will give up to 3 percent of the loan amount. For this, e-vouchers will be introduced, which will be given to one lakh students every year.
- For those in their first job: If their salary is less than Rs 1 lakh, people registering for the first time with E-Grad will get assistance of Rs 15,000 in three installments.
- Benefit schemes will be brought through different schemes for the development of farmers, youth, women and poor.
- Special scheme for infrastructure development for Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha and Andhra Pradesh.
- Information of 6 crore farmers will be brought on land registry.
- New Kisan Credit Cards will be issued in 5 states.
3 lakh crores for women and girls, this for the service sector
The Union Finance Minister said, a provision of Rs 3 lakh crore has been made in the budget for schemes benefiting girls and women. At the same time, it has been announced to help the private sector in every area through government schemes. Apart from this, Sitharaman said that additional tribunals will be formed for recovery. Additional tribunals will also be formed for dispute settlement. She also announced to bring a policy for the creative redevelopment of cities. The Finance Minister also said that Rs 3.3 lakh crore was given to companies through the National Company Law Tribunal.
India Post Payment Bank has more than 100 branches in the Northeast
Nirmala Sitharaman announced the establishment of more than 100 branches of India Post Payment Bank in the Northeast region. She also promised to complete the Polavaram irrigation project to ensure food security of the nation. The Finance Minister also announced funds for development in the Kopparthi area in the Visakhapatnam-Chennai Industrial Corridor and the Orvakal area in the Hyderabad-Bengaluru Industrial Corridor.
Announcement for Bihar
Nirmala Sitharaman said, new medical colleges will be built in Bihar and a new airport will also be constructed in the state. Apart from this, Patna-Purnia Expressway and Buxar-Bhagalpur Expressway will be constructed.
