New Delhi, July 19 (HS). Due to technical glitch in Microsoft server on Friday, airline flights, TV telecast, banking and working of many corporate companies have been affected worldwide. Check-in and ticket booking problems are being faced at most airports in the world including India. Flights are delayed in most cities of the world including Delhi-Mumbai, while many flights are being cancelled.
Official sources said that the Microsoft server crash has affected the entire world. The Australian government has called an emergency meeting. UK's Sky News has gone off air after the server crash, while the stock exchange has also been affected. Due to the failure of airline servers around the world, air services have been affected in many countries including India. Meanwhile, the Indian government is trying to contact Microsoft.
Booking, check-in and flight services of most airline companies in India, Indigo, SpiceJet, Akasa Air, Air India, Vistara and Air India Express have been affected by this technical problem. People are getting upset due to non-availability of services at other airports including Delhi. At the same time, most of the corporate companies in Hyderabad and Bangalore are said to be under virus attack. Many companies in Hyderabad have asked their employees to turn off their systems for the next two hours. Air India Airlines said that our digital system has been affected.
On the Microsoft problem, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) said that no decision has been taken yet to shut down the airlines. Indigo staff has started using handwritten boarding passes for flights at Hyderabad airport. Flights are running 35 minutes late at Delhi airport and 40 minutes late at Mumbai airport. Due to problems in Microsoft servers, computer systems are restarting after getting blue screens. Microsoft users across the world, including India, have reported massive disruption in services.
