Lucknow: Samajwadi Party (SP) president and former chief minister Akhilesh Yadav, while reacting to Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya's statement regarding the organization being bigger than the government, said on Friday that neither the organization nor the government is big, the biggest thing is the welfare of the people.
In a post on the social media platform X, Mr Yadav said, “In fact, the organisation and the government are just means, in democracy the end is public service. Those who are embroiled in the fight over the superiority of means are greedy for power and position, they do not care about the public. The BJP is power-oriented, not service-oriented!”
It is noteworthy that recently Mr Maurya, while boosting the morale of the party workers in the context of the poor performance of the Bharatiya Janata Party in Uttar Pradesh in the Lok Sabha elections, had said that the organisation is bigger than the government.
