Muzaffarnagar. Amidst the political turmoil that erupted after the order of the Muzaffarnagar SSP to write the names of the shops and their owners on the Kanwad Yatra route, some shopkeepers have started writing the correct names of their shops and their own names, which also includes the Sangam Hotel of Muzaffarnagar.
Apart from this, many other shops and fruit vendors have started writing their correct names. The opposition has made this order a big issue. Meanwhile, the Uttar Pradesh government has also issued clear orders that the names of all the shops and shop owners on the Kanwad Yatra route must be written under all circumstances. Apart from this, all hotels, dhabas, restaurants, tea shops and fruit vendors have also been instructed to write their names. After which the names of many shops were changed in Muzaffarnagar, Sangam Dhaba was renamed as Salim Bhojanalaya, Chai Lover Point was renamed as Ahmed Tea Stall.
In compliance with the orders of the state government, DIG of Saharanpur Range Ajay Sahni has instructed the police captains of the three districts of the range, Saharanpur, Muzaffarnagar and Shamli, to strictly enforce this order. After the UP government, the Uttarakhand government has also issued a similar order, in which all shopkeepers selling food items have been asked to write their name and the name of their shop.
Today late evening, Meerut Zone ADG Dhruvkant Thakur has also ordered the operators of hotels and dhabas on the Kanwad route to write their names. Police said that this is not a new order, but an old order, which is being implemented afresh. He said that during the Kanwad Yatra, all the food and beverage shops on the Kanwad route, where Kanwadiyas eat food, should have the name of the owner and the name of the employees working there written on them, so that no confusion arises. Kanwadiyas should decide by looking at the name whether they want to eat there or not, so that they do not face any problem. This order will be fully implemented in the zone.
He told that in the past years, such incidents have happened when pilgrims ate food at a hotel on the way and later it was found that the hotel or Dhaba was owned by a Muslim, due to which anger spread among them. This time this decision has been taken with the objective of maintaining law and order and peace.
It is noteworthy that a similar incident happened last night at a Dhaba outside village Parai on the highway in Chhapar police station area, where despite being forbidden, the worker put onions in the vegetable, due to which the Kanwadias got angry and vandalized the place. The Dhaba owner and the workers had to save their lives by running away through the back door. The police reached the spot and handled the matter with great difficulty.
