When the Kanwar got broken on Delhi-Dehradun National Highway-58, the person riding in the car was chased and beaten. Not only this, the angry Kanwariyas vandalized the car.

According to the information, the incident took place on Delhi-Dehradun National Highway-58 in Chhapar police station area of Muzaffarnagar district. On Sunday late night around 9:30 pm, a group of Kanwariyas were drinking tea near Badedi cut. Then one of their companions coming from Haridwar about one and a half kilometers back called and informed that a car touched him, due to which the Kanwar got broken.

On this, the Kanwariyas reached the Delhi-Dehradun National Highway and stopped a Swift car driver in front of Shri Laxmi Food Plaza located at Badedi intersection. After that, they started beating him accusing him of breaking the Kanwar and running away. The car driver reached the Dhaba to save himself. The Kanwariyas beat him there too. They kicked him. They also vandalized the Dhaba. On receiving information about the incident, CO Sadar Raju Kumar Sahu reached the spot with the police force.

Even in the presence of police, the Kanwariyas kept hitting the car driver. When an attempt was made to save him, the Kanwariyas pushed and beat the police and the Dhaba workers. Not only this, they also threw chairs at the police. The Kanwariyas completely damaged the car. However, after being pacified, the Kanwariyas were sent to their destination.
Investigation into the matter continues
CO Sadar Raju Kumar Sao said that information was received that Kanwariyas are beating up a car driver near Laxmi Food Plaza. Kanwariyas have alleged that the Kavad has been broken. However, there is no information about any Kavad being broken. The matter is being investigated on the basis of CCTV cameras.
