The entire world was in a panic due to the problem in the servers of Microsoft, one of the world's largest technology companies. Telecom, banking, airline services came to a halt not only in the country but all over the world and there was a loss of billions of rupees. Global technology company Microsoft has now said on this problem that Windows systems have been affected due to the update rollout of third-party software platform.
A Microsoft spokesperson said, “We hope to resolve this issue soon.” The crisis in Microsoft's servers has affected the operations of airlines, banks and businesses across the world. The crisis has put the operations of businesses and systems across the world in limbo.
A company spokesperson said, “We are aware of a problem affecting Windows devices due to an update of a third-party software platform.” The problem caused disruptions in airport and airline operations. IndiGo, SpiceJet and Akasa faced disruptions in online check-in and boarding processes on their networks. In such a situation, they were forced to adopt 'manual mode'.
Many users reported disruptions on Downdetector, a website that monitors such outages. Many people took to social media platform Twitter to express their disappointment. However, State Bank of India (SBI) said that its systems are unaffected by the global Microsoft outage. Stock exchanges NSE and BSE also said that they were not affected by the global Microsoft system outage.
Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said the IT ministry is in touch with Microsoft regarding the global crisis, and added that the NIC network is not affected. He said in a post on X that the cause of the crisis has been identified and updates have been released to resolve the issue.
