The ministry is in talks with Microsoft
After the global disruption in Microsoft, Electronics and Information Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that the Government of India is in touch with Microsoft and updates are being released to resolve the problem. Ashwini Vaishnav has shared this information in a post on x. He wrote that MeitY is in touch with Microsoft and its partners regarding the global outage. The cause of this outage has been identified and updates have been released to resolve the problem.

BJP leader Rajeev Chandrasekhar said, “Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Suite are used by millions of Indians. Any disruption on this platform disrupts the business and operations of many companies. I hope Microsoft will restore the services soon. I am confident that the Government of India will work with Microsoft to ensure that the services are restored as soon as possible.”
Emergency meeting in Australia
After considering the seriousness of the matter, Australia has called an emergency meeting on the Microsoft issue. Various institutions including news outlets, banks, supermarkets, airports and telecommunication services are being affected across Australia due to technical disruptions. Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra airports are currently experiencing operational disruptions, causing inconvenience to passengers checking in. An Australian government representative said that the National Emergency Mechanism Group will meet soon to deal with the situation. The spokesperson said that the Australian government is working closely with the National Cyber Security Coordinator to resolve the issue. We understand that Triple-0 services are not currently affected by this disruption. According to current information, this disruption is caused by a technical problem in a third-party software platform employed by the affected companies.
