Argentina's Rodrigo de Paul has clarified the video of the French footballers being racially abused during the celebration of the Copa America victory. In an interview with an international media, Rodrigo de Paul said that Lionel Messi had earlier instructed his team members not to mock anyone. Earlier, questions were raised about Messi's role in the racial abuse video.
De Paul has made it clear in this regard.
“When the final match was over, Messi was next to all the teammates. The match is over. Let's celebrate our victory. But Messi instructed not to make fun of anyone – De Paul said. Earlier, authorities had checked whether Messi was present in the video. But there was no sight of Messi anywhere in the video.
After winning the title, Argentina star Enzo Fernandez shared a video of the victory celebration of the Argentine team on his Instagram channel. In the last part of this video, there are insulting remarks about the players of the French team. Argentinian players have been making racist remarks against African-born players in the French national team. After the incident became controversial, Enzo withdrew the video and expressed regret. Following the incident, there is severe criticism against the Argentine team from the general public. The international football federations have filed a complaint against the France national football team.
