Kolkata : The first big meeting of Trinamool Congress after the Lok Sabha elections was held on Sunday, July 21. Trinamool observes July 21 as Martyr's Day every year to pay tribute to the martyrs. From this platform, Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said that in view of the increasing violence in Bangladesh, she will keep the doors of her state open for the people trapped in the neighboring country and they will be given shelter. Mamata Banerjee cited the United Nations resolution on refugees to justify her stand on the potential humanitarian crisis. She said, 'I should not speak on the affairs of Bangladesh because it is a sovereign nation and whatever should be said on this issue is a central subject. But I can tell you that if people trapped in distress knock on the doors of Bengal, we will definitely give them shelter. This is because there is a resolution of the United Nations to accommodate refugees in the areas around the disturbed areas.' Meanwhile, on this statement of Mamata Banerjee, the Union Ministry of External Affairs has said that this is not in the jurisdiction of any Chief Minister.
On Sunday, CM Mamta Banerjee targeted the central government on one hand and on the other hand, she gave many guidelines to the party leaders from the stage. On this day, the CM claimed that the Modi government will not last long because it has been formed by 'intimidation'. SP chief Akhilesh Yadav also attended the Trinamool program on invitation. Mamta and Akhilesh stressed that the central government is an unstable government. It is a guest for a few days and can fall anytime. Mamta Banerjee said that you cannot suppress us by misusing agencies. Only Bengal can save the existence of India. India cannot exist without Bengal. The CM said that I agree with Akhilesh, the way the government has come to power by using agencies in Delhi and misusing other means, it can fall any day.
On women MPs, Mamata Banerjee said that Trinamool Congress is the only party whose 38% of elected MPs are women. This is the highest. Targeting the BJP, she said that before the elections, many people claimed to give 33% reservation to women in politics, but they could not do so. Trinamool is the only party that has ensured 38% women representatives.
A direct target on BJP
Targeting the BJP, Mamata said that the BJP cannot protest. BJP leaders sometimes say I will take away 26,000 jobs, sometimes say 42,000 jobs, sometimes say remove OBC. The CM said that I have 10 lakh government jobs ready but when I try to do something, they go to court. I will not let anyone lose even a single job.
Mamta praised Akhilesh
Mamata Banerjee praised Akhilesh Yadav for the good performance of SP in the Lok Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh. The Trinamool chief said that 'the game' you played in Uttar Pradesh should have made the BJP government resign but the shameless government is still in power by misusing agencies and other means.' Delhi government will fall, days of happiness will come: Akhilesh
Akhilesh attacked the central government and said that these people who have come to power are guests for a few days. This government is going to fall. We will see one day that the government will fall and happy days will come for us. He alleged that communal forces are hatching conspiracies. When we look at the politics of the country, today's challenge has increased. Praising Mamta Banerjee, he said that in Bengal you left BJP behind, Uttar Pradesh also left them behind by joining hands with you. He said that Didi has struggled in her life. There are few such leaders. Didi is an example.
Mamata's instructions to public representatives
The Chief Minister warned such public representatives who think only about themselves and not for the public. The CM said that become a partner of the people. The more we win, the more humble we will have to be. The CM said that if any complaint of injustice with the people is received, it will not be tolerated. I want to tell the Nagarpalika, Panchayat representatives, MLAs and MPs that they should ensure that we do not receive any complaint against them. If we receive any complaint, we will take strict action. Everyone knows that we do not hold back in doing this. The CM said that no one should make you greedy. You will have to take an oath that there will be no compromise with corruption. I will have nothing to do with those who get elected and do not serve the people.
