New Delhi. Mahindra has officially unveiled the Thar 5-door. It will be introduced as Thar Rox. The bigger version of this lifestyle SUV will be launched in India on 15 August. In India, it will compete with the Force Gurkha Five-door, whose 5-door model the company is going to launch soon.

There will be many changes in the design of Mahindra 5-door. It will not only be bigger in size, but it will also have different engine performance. Let's know what is in Mahindra Thar 5-door version.

The design will be boxy
Talking about the design, the new Thar Rocks has circular LED DRLs, projector headlamps, circular fog lights, new multi-slat grille and fender-mounted ORVMs. The SUV will come in a boxy design as before. Apart from this, it has dual-tone alloy wheels, black-coloured front door handles, front camera, body-coloured rear door handles mounted on the C-pillar, square LED taillights and faux skid plates.

Although Mahindra has not revealed the interiors of the 2024 Thar Rocks, it could come equipped with a panoramic sunroof (single pan unit for the mid-spec variants), larger touchscreen unit, dual-zone climate control, ADAS suite, ventilated front seats, cruise control, automatic climate control and some other new features.

Petrol engine with diesel option
According to the information, the Thar Rocks is likely to get 2.0-litre mStallion turbo-petrol and 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engines, which can come with six-speed manual and torque converter automatic gearboxes. Apart from rivals like the Force Gurkha five-door, the Thar Rocks will also compete with the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, MG Astor, Skoda Kushak and Volkswagen Taigun.
