Lucknow. It is almost certain that Lal Bihari Yadav will become the leader of the opposition in the Legislative Council. According to SP sources, a high-level consensus has been reached on his name. At the same time, the party will not bet on Shivpal Yadav for this post in the Assembly. The names of MLA Ram Achal Rajbhar and Indrajit Saroj are leading for this post in the Assembly.

The leader of the SP party in the Legislative Council is Lal Bihari Yadav, but till now the SP did not have the required number of members to become the Leader of the Opposition. In the election for the 13 vacant posts on May 5, the SP got three seats. Now its total number of members in the Legislative Council has become 10, which is equal to the number of members required to become the Leader of the Opposition.

According to SP sources, Lal Bihari Yadav is already the leader of the SP party and he has also gone to court to get the status of Leader of Opposition in the Upper House. Therefore, the party has decided to give this responsibility to him.

On the other hand, Akhilesh Yadav, who was the leader of opposition in the assembly, has resigned from here after winning the Lok Sabha elections. It is said that some MLAs are lobbying to make former cabinet minister and Akhilesh's uncle Shivpal Yadav the leader of opposition. Whereas the SP leadership believes that assembly elections are to be held after two years.

To ensure victory in this, it is necessary that this responsibility be given to a member of non-Yadav OBC or SC caste. So that the vote can be plus in the assembly elections. On the basis of these equations, the names of MLA Ram Achal Rajbhar and Indrajit Saroj are leading. However, Kamal Akhtar's name is also said to be included in this race.
