Dakshinmanay Sri Sharda Peetham in Karnataka has appealed to the devotees to be cautious as the water of Tunga river is flowing above the danger mark. According to the Meteorological Department, Sringeri received 190 mm of rain on July 15. However, experts have expressed the expectation that the intensity of rain will reduce by Sunday.

Devotees are advised to exercise caution and are requested to stay away from the river banks,” Peetham said in a post on social media platform 'X' from its official handle, adding that 190 mm of rainfall was recorded in Sringeri on 15 July, according to the Meteorological Department. However, experts expect the intensity of the rain to subside by Sunday. A man who described himself as a “Karnataka ghat” told Ax that an important road connecting several villages to Sringeri had been submerged. The man also shared a video.
Another 'X' user Naveen Reddy has shown the waterlogged areas around the temple premises in his video. He wrote, “During Chaturmasya, a large number of devotees come to have darshan of Jagadguru Sri Adi Shankaracharya, as he is considered very auspicious.” Sringeri is prominent among the four pithas established by Adi Shankaracharya.
